March 2014 Ipsy: Destination Beauty

This is only my second Ipsy bag, but so far I’m really enjoying it! I’ve gotten full sized makeup products for them, and I like that they have more drugstore accessible brands as well as high end- it makes it easier to get more stuff if I discover I like it!
I LOVE the color of this lipstick! For me, it falls in the “my lips but better” category- a nice warm rose shade that’s not too deep but not too sheer. The texture is nice and smooth too, but I haven’t worn it long enough to see what the wear time is like.
I know what you’re thinking, and here it is: it’s pronounced “ruffles.” Yeah, I was confused too. The color is a beautiful cool blue, almost a Tiffany blue, but with a black speckled effect. I’m a bit nervous about testing it out. Ipsy says it has a “unique pebbled finish” but I have no idea what that’s supposed to mean. Is it like sandpaper? Is it like I got sand stuck in my nail polish? I don’t understand.
I think is what I’m looking forward to the most about subscribing to Ipsy- this is a product I would have never purchased for myself, but I love it! There’s four shadows- Starlet (chocolate brown shimmer), Bora Bora (teal blue shimmer), Risky Business (golden brown shimmer), and Rock Bottom (metallic copper shimmer). It’s definitely a better deal to buy a quad as opposed to a shadow- a quad is $16 but a single is $14. Pretty pricey! I most likely wouldn’t have gotten these shadows if left to my own devices, but I love the colors and the quality is good.
I’m not a huge fan of primers. They don’t seem to make a huge difference to me. Admittedly I haven’t gotten to try this one yet, but it seems pretty nice. I’ll give it a try!
Verdict for March 2014: It’s a win!

leave some love!
